Musician/Pianist (Keyboardist)
Rock Hill Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, SC, is in search of a talented, joyful, and energetic pianist for our worship services. This individual will work with the Pastor, Music Director and Choir Directors in creating a worshipful and reverential experience during services and events. S/He is expected to participate during both traditional and blended services. This position reports directly to the Pastor and Chairman of the Deacon’s Ministry.
The individual will be responsible for playing piano music and providing vocal leadership during Sunday services, providing music for special worship services such as, but not limited to Resurrection Sunday, Watch Night Services, Thanksgiving, etc. and any other additional special services or events (such as weddings or funerals) that may arise. There is the possibility that occasionally some of the responsibilities for this position will occur off-site. Also, this position may be combined with our vacant Assistant Music Director position for the experienced candidate.

Job Type: Part-Time (Year-round)

Compensation: This is a salary position. The salary will be consistent with candidate’s experience, skill level and education.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a Christ-honoring Spirit within and outside of the church.
- Assist in creating an environment that encourages unity as we gather to worship and praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
- Attend worship and planning meetings.
- Support the church’s worship environment through the well-prepared execution of music.
- Serve as accompanist for all Rock Hill Baptist Church choirs in scheduled worship services, scheduled regular rehearsals, special events/services and performances as assigned.
- Help facilitate congregational singing and worship through the excellent execution of hymns and other songs.
- Participate in rehearsals and performances of Rock Hill Baptist Church choirs.
- Collaborate with the Music Director to plan, select, and prepare musical selections according to the needs of the worship services in coordination with the Pastor.
- Serve as accompanist for guest choirs, groups, and soloists, when needed.
- Play for weddings, anniversaries, funerals, as requested (and upon availability), at additional compensation from individuals involved in the event(s)
- Maintain an accurate account of equipment and musical accessories. To include notifying the Pastor and Trustee Board Chairman of any concerns, (i.e., equipment/accessories necessary to carry out the function of the position, repairs needed, etc.)
- Assist the Pastor and/or Chairman of the Deacon’s Ministry in finding a substitute(s) for when unavailable or when members of the music ministry are unavailable.
- Other musician/musical duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- MUST be proficient in playing the keyboard.
- Proficient in all genres of gospel, hymns, etc.
- Must be able to sight read music and accompany both the Pastor, Music Director.
- Must have a working knowledge of rules and technical knowledge of vocal performances. (Assistant Music Director KSA’s)
- Must have a background in conducting, harmony and vocal production, music theory, or teaching. (Assistant Music Director KSA’s)
Qualifications/Requirements
- A Christian disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ
- At least 3 years of experience as a church musician
- At least 3 years of experience as a pianist
- Available to attend/conduct choir rehearsal during the week and/or Saturdays.
- Be readily available each Sunday and play for church service and special events.
- Dependable – Reliable, responsive to others needs and accountable.
- People-oriented -- Enjoys interacting with people, to include young adults and children.
- Adaptable/flexible -- Enjoys work that may require frequent changes in direction.
- Reliable transportation
