Rock Hill Baptist Church Prison Ministry....

What Is It?
The Prison Ministry is comprised of the Story Link Program and Worship and Praise Services offered at several of the prisons in Missouri and Illinois.
The Story Link Program is designed to strengthen the bonds between offenders and their children and to provide opportunities for Christian witness. Offenders who are 90 days free of violations are allowed to select a book provided by the progam and to read the book and say a message to their child on a cassette tape, under the supervision of a volunteer. Offenders may also write a message in the book. The volunteers send the tape and book to the child at no cost to the offender or their family.

How Big Is The Program?
On average, men and women at the 10 prisons we are currently serving in Missouri are reading nearly 300 books per month. Currently there are plans to expand the number of prisons that are participating in the program.

Who Is Involved?
There are approximately 30 volunteers from Rock Hill Baptist, Parkway Baptist and the "Clowns Thru Grace" from Grace Baptist Church in Granite City, Illinos that work together going as often as three Saturdays each month.

What Happens?
The fast-paced Worship and Praise Services feature singing, clowns, puppets and testimonies and are scheduled on Saturdays at several of the state prisions.
On average, several offenders come forward at each service for prayer with one or two making first-time professions of faith.
